Not all spinal pathologies require surgical intervention. Many of them can be treated with alternative methods:
Spinal traction
Spinal traction is a therapeutic measure for dosed traction of certain parts of the spine - usually the cervical and lumbosacral spine. At the Iris Medical Centre, traction is performed using Ormed Professional equipment, which allows variable spinal traction - by reducing the weight of the tension in the passive phase by several kilograms, the perivertebral muscles are reflexively relaxed, which allows gentle traction of the intervertebral disc without traumatizing the surrounding tissues. Traction therapy implies a comprehensive approach. Together with traction, a massage roller is used, the effect of which normalizes blood flow and removes functional blocks in the muscles.
Kinesiotherapy
Kinesiotherapy on the Ormed apparatus implies alternating effects on the pelvic, lumbar, thoracic and cervical regions. It allows increasing the mobility of the spine and hip joints, elasticity of muscle tissues and tendons of the back and pelvic region, relieving pelvic spasms. The result - prevention of scoliosis, osteochondrosis of the spine, curvature of the pelvis with subsequent arthrosis of the hip joints, pain relief in pelvic spasms, improvement of motor-visceral reflexes, functions of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The technique also allows to revive the psycho-emotional background of the patient. It is used in the complex therapy of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, as well as in the course of rehabilitation, for the rehabilitation of athletes after injuries and serious loads. With dosed motor load in the body increases the level of substances that are natural analgesics. This helps to relieve or reduce pain.
Mechanotherapy is performed under the supervision of the centre's specialists and provides effective results. The therapeutic programme is selected according to the patient’s pathologies and after a preliminary free consultation with a neurologist. A medical supervisor monitors the effectiveness of the exercises.
